Mahou alternative for Mac
Mahou is a popular free layout switcher — but it only runs on Windows. If you moved to a Mac and miss it, Rekey is the native macOS equivalent: automatic wrong-layout correction across 34 languages.
Short version: Mahou is Windows-only, so it has no Mac version. The closest macOS equivalent is Rekey — a native app that automatically corrects text typed in the wrong keyboard layout in under 200ms, supports 34 languages, keeps your typing on your Mac, and is free.
Switching from Windows to a Mac, a lot of small habits break — and losing an automatic layout fixer like Mahou is one of the more annoying ones. macOS has no built-in equivalent.
Rekey rebuilds that habit natively for the Mac: it watches what you type and rewrites a wrong-layout word automatically, then stays out of your way. Free, on-device, and built for many languages rather than one pair.
